Judge's Comments:
The standard of entries was excellent,
I enjoyed reading them all and judging was a difficult task. I looked for
images, story, rhyme, and rhythm. The poems about pain in the student's
worlds particularly touched me. I salute those who wrote about it so
bravely, and who encouraged their friends to keep going despite
difficulties. A big Thank You to the teachers who instructed and encourage
our students to write poetry, as well. It was a privilege to read all these
wonderful poets, and to all who entered---keep writing!

Judge’s Comments:
Reading this wonderful collection of poems has
been a delightful and heartening experience. I'm happy to see among the
young a keen interest in poetry as a mode of exact and beautiful expression.
There are many poems not among the final selection that I would commend
highly for splendid work, fresh phrasing, apt metaphors, and rousing themes.
